Final highlights from our trip to the North East, Summer 2010

Because I am so far behind on posts, I combined a bunch of our adventures into one,to put the summer vacation to rest.  In addition to these fun adventures, we had some that were not captured with my camera.  Megan came to visit us, it was so great to catch up in person with Meggie! Carly also came out to the countryside for a playdate which was fun! Both Megan and Carly got to play with the girls and then the adults got to enjoy a glass of vino and gossip. When we went back to NJ, we had a lunch date with the Pica's and Bendjouyas! We tried to make the most of everyday and I think we were successful.

Farm!

Right up the road from the E's in Easton there is a family who has horses, pigs, goats, a donkey, chickens and some other small farm animals...

This is perfect for an outing involving 1 year olds... Kitty, Ruby, Tess, Sisa and I brought the girls and checked out everyone up close ! 

Ruby's Birthday

Miss Ruby had a birthday while we were in CT, the big 5!!! Its hard to believe Ruby is 5; on one hand because she is 5 going on 20, but on the other hand it seems like just yesterday that she was cutest chubby cheeked baby on earth.
This little girl has been through more then any of us could ever imagine and has the sparkiest, funniest and sweetest disposition of anyone. We love you, Ruby!!

Did I mention that this was the first birthday party the girls have been to?

Or that it was at an indoor bounce house?

Cannons!

When my sisters were little girls, my Dad took the greatest pictures of them on the cannons and with my mom.

There is a "Nature Center" in Westport that my family brought me to as a child.  Its a very cute little museum with exhibits, small animals, reptiles, rescued birds, etc. There was a boa constrictor there when I was little that had baby boas.. or so Oma tells me.  Anyway- the husband boa is still alive and at the museum! Crazy, right?
I didn't take any photos in the museum but outside at the play ground, where the girls went on the swings and their first trip down a SLIDE! Thank you, Axel for holding on tight!
