1st Birthday Eve

Today, Madison came over and I was able to start making headway for the crazy week ahead of us. The sweetheart that she is, Madison brought the girls birthday present ! Initially I thought we should wait until tomorrow but then came to my senses and let the babes open their first gift. Naturally, the tissue paper and packaging was far more interesting then the cute outfits but they had fun and that's all that counts! 

We took our little evening stroll in the cars and as usual, it was a joy to watch the girls soak it all in.  

P.S.  Evelyn gave Audrey a birthday present today.  A nice big love bite on her forearm.  It was a little bit dramatic but everyone is OK.

2 days till the big 1 !

I lied, I promised I'd post some photos and I didn't.   I had to have my IT guy clean up my computer to make room for the new photos and its been taking more time then I had originally thought. You see, my IT 'guy' also has a full time job, is a very involved father and doting husband.  Therefore I hate to bother him with my computer issues at the end of a very full day.  Anyway, I digress.. we have 2 days left until my cherubs are 1 whole year old. I can't quite bring myself to start the blog entry for that day because it is just so bittersweet that I'm having a hard time.. For instance, I worked on the 6 month video for about a month prior to the post. I have nothing for Friday. Not one thing.
Here is something for you... a photo of me from exactly this day last year. Thank you all for being such great, kind friends and family by LYING to me in telling me how great I looked. I mean seriously, can't we all be honest with each other now? I was a HOUSE!

BAM! 

5, 4, 3 Days till the big 1 !

I had the best intentions when running my mouth off about the 7 day count down to the big 1 year birthday; but as you all know, life happens and gets in the way of sitting at the computer to blog. Sorry! So this is a condensed version of the 5, 4, 3 day countdown.  

Day 5 was spent being lazy around the house, chilling, eating, napping- the norm. Eric and I worked on the girls new play room which was my 'office' area.  While the girls were napping we moved bookshelves, desks, and a whole bunch of junk from one side of the house, to the other! The good news is that now we have an entire room downstairs dedicated to the girls and on its way to being totally baby proof. The new gate will be arriving on Thursday! The floor is wall to wall foam letters and numbers in primary colors. Not my first choice, it actually gives me a little vertigo... Anyway, I will hopefully get around to decorating the room when we return from our long anticipated summer escape back to the United States. Yesterday the girls and I did about a thousand loads of laundry and hung out around the house. THRILLING! 

Back up to day 7 of the count down when we entered the "Way Tu Tu Cute" model search. We won, thanks to all of our supportive friends and family, thank you! Way Tu Tu Cute is an online boutique for all things baby with an emphasis on girly girl items.  The reason I entered the contest was that the prize was a photo shoot with a local and very cool photographer.  It was a free way to get professional shots of my darlings.. So that is what we did today. We brought our babysitter, Madison, along for the ride (Madison, also know as my sanity).  

The photo shoot was in Hollywood, FL at a tiny little hotel on the beach. The girls donned tutu's, hair accessories, butterfly wings, leg warmers.. and did I mention the toe nail polish? Evie, my patient little babe, sat quietly while the photographers' assistant painted a bright green polish on her toes. Audrey had no time for the polish. At first I had pangs fear, wondering if I was doing the right thing, letting someone paint my first born's toes for a photo but hey- it wasn't fake teeth or a spray on tan, right? What's a little polish? 

Despite the hot, hot, heat.. the session was great, quick, easy and very cute. I have a feeling we got some great photos out of the day.  Obviously the girls were in perfect spirits, very well behaved and had a great time.  

I have some photos from the last few days but my camera is upstairs and you know, I just can't deal with that right now. So forgive me and I'll post them tomorrow. 

Breaking News!!

So Audrey has been taking about 1-2 steps at a time for the past two weeks. Evelyn is also now taking anywhere from 1-3 steps.
Today however, I believe it is official that we have a 'walker'.  Miss Audrey is a full blown walk-a-sauras-rex.  Naturally, she's still very uneasy; especially because she is so proud and is more concerned with making sure we are watching her then where she is going..

6 days till the big 1 !

Today was another very hot day here in FL, so we decided to take the little ladies to the pool.  We hit up the kiddie pool first, which was like a hot tub, so we quickly made our way over to the larger pool for some 'swimming'. I am sure it will come as no great surprise that the babes loved the water and the attention from  everyone at the pool.  Here are some pictures from the afternoon when we returned to the AC!

7 days till the big 1!

To begin our 7 day countdown, we have entered a local contest.  An online boutique called "Way TuTu Cute" is holding a model search via Facebook.  So if you are on Facebook.. go to my page and find your way to TuTu Cute.  First you have to "Like" tutu cute and then 'Like' the girls' photo. Whomever gets the most 'likes' wins! The grand prize is a photography session with a very talented local photographer (and we all know how much I love photos!)

Denial

I am in total denial that next week Miss Twin A and Miss Twin B will be 1 year old! It is unbelievable how quickly its gone. I will be posting a 7 day count down starting tomorrow.. stay tuned.

Happy 4th of July!!!

Happy 4th! I can't wait until the girls are old enough to enjoy the 4th as much as I do... especially when we take them to Marblehead for some boating, fireworks and cocktails (or sippy cups).
Since we were not in MHD this year, we celebrated here in FL at BBQ party with thunderstorms looming overhead.  So it wasn't THAT festive -but it was better than last year when I was covered in PUPPS, itching uncontrollably and praying I didn't go into labor over the holiday weekend.

You'll notice the title of the blog is a little misspelled. We have Evelyn and Audrey to thank for that; I had the laptop on my lap and they crawled over as quickly as possible, pulled themselves up and started slamming the keys. So thank you, girls, for your contribution. 

Anyway, I was going to say that we are still here and all is well. The girls are very busy, cute as ever and so excited about their upcoming birthday and summer vacation plans!

You think its time for a little bang trim ? 

11 months Old!

Today, the little ladies are 11 months old.  We started the celebrations yesterday by having our babysitter come over. YES, that's right.. b a b y s i t t e r !!! We shall refer to her as "M" for now, she is very sweet, the girls warmed up to her straight away and all was wonderful.  M will be helping us out a couple times a week and some weekend nights, too! oh la la! It has been a very fun 11 months but come on folks, I need some help down here! 

Back to my big girls.. they are darling as ever, showing me everyday how much I love them more and more.  They have been enjoying lots of foods, they are practicing their "SO BIG" moves, 'peek a-boos" and now we are working on some new tricks that will hopefully be mastered by next month. Audrey took her first step the other day and it was breaking news at the time, but hasn't occurred since then so we are waiting patiently.  Earlier today I took the camera in their room when they woke up from the nap.. check out the bed heads..
