BGB in the house

Its a very big week here in the Gray household.. Big Girl Bed time! After months (shhh don't tell) of successfully climbing in and out of their cribs, the girls have graduated to big girl beds. New sheets, new pillows, new comforters were all set in place as their 'prizes' and away we went.  The were so excited, happy and proud of their new set up, their reaction was priceless.
I was also very proud and excited for them and then it occurred to me that-- that's it- no more cribs, big girls they are in fact. A bittersweet moment for Mommy.  My little babies are completely on the loose.
The first night of BGBs, it did take a while to calm the crazies and get settled (like an hour and a half)  but once they were in- the girls slept entirely through the night. Night two, about a half hour later then usual and night three-- not one issue. Naps- naps haven't been great or consistent lately anyway so I am taking what I can get.  Here are some pictures of my big girls.

We may have 'big girl beds' but we still have binkies, ha ha ha !

26 months

Dear almost-twenty-six month old Evelyn and Audrey,
I am currently listening to you talk to each other while you should be napping. You are discussing noonies and juice. Wait, now I'm pretty sure Evelyn is standing at the top of the stairs yelling at me- this is because she can crawl out of her crib like a little monkey. Graceful as a gymnast, my darling Evie.  Audrey, the first time you tried to crawl out of your crib, you landed on your face and have since restrained from doing so, so I thank you for learning your lesson (relatively) safely.
More to come later my loves.. as soon as I conjure up the energy after the morning we've had (including having to leave the library because certain people wouldn't follow the rules).

Why sugar coat it? We (upon reccomendation of the pediatrician) duct tape diapers. We also snack in the living room, with the dog, with the TV on. Yup, its happened- resorting to almost anything safe in order to keep you happy, fed, and clean. Spoiled? maybe. Happy Mamma? Yes.
